The most exciting way to acquire new players in HoopVerse is by purchasing and opening packs. Each pack has fixed and clearly displayed odds, so you know the chances of getting players of different rarities before you open it. If luck is on your side, you might even pull a rare Ruby player without needing to spend a premium to buy one from the marketplace!
Each pack clearly shows the number of cards it contains, and currently, you can choose from three types of packs:
1 Player Pack
3 Player Pack
5 Player Pack
These starter packs give you a chance to obtain any of the 1,500 unique active players in the ecosystem. In the future, we plan to introduce special packs with exciting features, such as:
Guaranteed Rarities: Packs where you are assured of pulling a certain rarity.
Budget-Friendly Options: Packs with a maximum player rating, offered at a lower price.
Whether you're building your first team or adding depth to an existing roster, these packs provide a thrilling and accessible way to grow in the HoopVerse universe.
Packs can be purchased using Crypto (priced in USDC) or with a Credit Card. HoopCoin is a payment option as well.
Dynamic pricing is a key feature of the HoopVerse economy, ensuring balance, fairness, and utility for all player NFTs. This section explains how pack pricing works and why maintaining a ratio of 15 players per team is critical for sustaining a healthy ecosystem.
$9.99 is the base cost of a single Player NFT when the ecosystem is balanced (player-to-team ratio = 15).
Multi-player packs are discounted, offering a cost-effective way to build or expand teams.
The base price is subject to change if we observe long-term imbalances.
The player-to-team ratio (R) reflects the number of players available relative to the number of teams. This ratio ensures player NFTs retain their value by maintaining a balance between supply and demand:
Utility of Players: Each team requires 15 players to compete in leagues and competitions.
Balanced Ecosystem: A ratio of 15 avoids oversaturation while ensuring enough players for full rosters.
When the ratio deviates from 15:
R < 15 (Player Shortage): Teams struggle to fill rosters.
R > 15 (Player Surplus): A small surplus is acceptable because the market is not perfectly efficient. For example, player owners might not respond to contract offers in time. However, significant excess supply can reduce the perceived value of Player NFTs.
Pack prices adjust based on the player-to-team ratio using the formula:
Where:
0.1: A sensitivity factor determining how quickly prices change as R deviates from 15.
Scenario 1: R = 10 (Player Shortage)
Calculation:
Result: Lower prices encourage minting more players to rebalance the ecosystem.
Scenario 2: R = 25 (High Player Surplus)
Calculation:
Result: Significantly higher prices discourage minting, ensuring the ecosystem doesnβt become oversaturated with players.
Daily Adjustments: The system regularly updates the player-to-team ratio to determine pack prices. You can check the chart on the pack to visualize the price evolution.
Transparent Pricing: Prices are determined by an objective measurement tied directly to gameplay, ensuring fairness and alignment with ecosystem dynamics.
Always Available Packs: Packs are always available for users, ensuring everyone has access to build or expand their teams at any time.
Stable Economy: Ensures long-term balance and user satisfaction in the HoopVerse ecosystem, by protecting the NFTs value.
