🔁Trading

Trading is a central part of managing your team in HoopVerse. It allows you to reshape your roster, adjust your strategy, and build for the present or the future. Every trade has consequences, both on the court and in the locker room.

What Is a Trade?

A trade is a transaction between two teams where players, draft picks, or both are exchanged. You can initiate trades with other users or respond to trade offers sent to you.

Trades follow league rules based on contract structure, salary matching, and eligibility.

Sending a Trade Offer

To propose a trade, select the assets from both sides and send the offer to another team.

✔️ The recipient will receive an email notification when the offer is sent ✔️ You can include a custom message to explain the deal, add context, or negotiate ✔️ The other manager can accept, reject, or counter the offer

Clear communication improves your chances of reaching a deal, especially in competitive leagues.

Reasons to Trade

Managers use trades to adapt to their goals throughout the season.

✔️ Add missing talent to make a playoff push ✔️ Rebuild by acquiring young players or draft picks ✔️ Reduce salary obligations for long-term planning ✔️ Improve team chemistry by resolving conflicts ✔️ Honor a player’s request to be moved

Every trade changes your team’s direction. Evaluate carefully before making a move.

Trade Rules and Constraints

The HoopVerse trading system is inspired by NBA logic and includes several restrictions.

Salary Matching

Trades must comply with salary matching rules. Depending on your team’s cap situation, the incoming and outgoing salaries must stay within a certain percentage.

This prevents unfair deals and maintains league balance.

The system will alert you if any player is ineligible before you submit a trade.

Trade Deadline

Trades are only allowed before the league’s trade deadline. Once that date passes, the market is closed for the remainder of the season.

Evaluating a Trade

Before making or accepting a trade, consider these questions:

For your team

• Does the trade improve your competitive level or rebuild strategy? • How does it affect your financial flexibility? • What will it do to team chemistry and player morale? • Are you honoring any existing promises?

For the other team

• Does the offer make sense for their roster situation? • Is the value balanced and fair? • Could this open the door for future negotiations?

Smart trades are not just about numbers. They are about timing, relationships, and reputation.

Chemistry Impact of Trades

Trades do not just affect your roster on paper. They also influence the emotional fabric of your team. Moving a player can shift the locker room dynamic significantly, especially if that player was:

✔️ A trusted veteran ✔️ A team leader ✔️ A strong personality match with others ✔️ Someone with high morale and trust

Frequent trades can destabilize your locker room and make it harder to build long-term chemistry, so be strategic and avoid overusing the trade system.

Trade Rumors and Locker Room Impact

Trade negotiations may become public, especially if discussions drag on or involve key players.

✔️ Trade talks can leak, creating locker room tension ✔️ Players involved in rumors may message you with concerns ✔️ Chemistry and trust may shift based on how the situation is handled
